JUKEBOX MUSICAL
The Class
“No Story too Boring!”
Jonathan Larson
All artists are STORY TELLERS.
Some tell their story through song, some thru dance and some through writing and/or acting. To work in Musical Theatre, an artist must be skillied in all of these disciplines.
In this weekly 2 hour class, students learn the basics of the 3 skills (singing, dance, acting) necessary to perform in Musical Theatre, all while writing their own Jukebox Musical.
TWO 16 WEEK SESSIONS EACH YEAR!
DAY TBA (TUESDAY OR THURSDAY)
– 6-8 PM
FALL SESSION: August – November
SPRING SESSION: March – June
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:
ATTENDANCE:
- A SESSION = 16 WEEKS with 1 class per week
- EACH CLASS IS TWO (2) HOURS LONG
- REGULAR ATTENDANCE IS RECOMMENDED as rehearsal time is limited
- THERE WILL BE 1 MAKEUP CLASS scheduled for the end of the session (AFTER the performance – think “snow day”)

I am always careful about what is “appropriate” for my students to perform but, at the same time, I try to allow for as much freedom of expression as is reasonable. The first draft of the script will be made available to Parents and we can discuss any content that you may have questions about.
PERFORMANCE:
